How We Can Help You

Updated: Jan 17, 2023

As the new year begins, we wanted to take the opportunity to remind you of who Disability Assist is, our services and who we are able to work with.

Disability Assist is a charity which is funded to support adults with physical disabilities and long-term disabling health conditions across Kent to live more independently.

Our staff team is comprised of people with lived experience of disability so we understand the challenges, which is something we constantly find that our clients are relieved to hear.

Disability Assist supports disabled people to have choice and control in all aspects of their lives, and provides advocacy, help with benefits and peer support as well as information, advice and guidance on anything around independent living. Further information about our services for individuals can be found by clicking this link.

We want to make getting in touch with Disability Assist as easy as possible so you can either refer yourself or send us the details of a friend or family member, as long as you have their permission to do so. Just send us a few details using our online form, and we will be in touch as soon as possible.

For professionals from other organisations who would like to refer a client to us, please be aware that we only work with adults with physical disabilities or disabling health conditions and are unable to take on anyone who does not have a physical condition. Client with mental health issues should be referred to Live Well Kent. The online form for professional use can be found here .

We are also able to assist other organisations to improve their service offering for disabled people in Kent. We can arrange for our staff to either speak at your event to tell people more about our organisation and how we work or we can attend your venue to offer information and advice directly to disabled people. Our CEO is also available as an expert speaker on a number of topics, and currently participates in All Party Parliamentary Groups on a regular basis as well as chairing the county-wide Physical Disability Forum and Kent County Council’s Direct Payments Involvement Group.

For further information on how we can help you, please feel free to take a look around our website and do not hesitate to get in touch with us if we can answer any questions you may have.
